CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY

To keep your pieces safe and looking their best, your jewellery should be regularly cleaned. Use a jewellery cleaning solution or add a few drops of dish washing liquid to a bowl of warm water. Soak the jewellery for 5-10 minutes. Gently clean with a soft bristled toothbrush. Rinse in warm water and dry with a soft lint-free cloth. If there are stones set in any of your pieces, pay attention to any catching or snagging when drying the piece. If this happens, do not wear and contact us or take in to a jeweller to assess its condition.

Gold is very soft so scratches easily but the patina of everyday wear is part of the look of these pieces. Treat them gently and they will develop a beautiful finish that will last generations.

GENERAL CARE

A professional should regularly check your  jewellery for damage or wear. If you have any concerns about your jewellery condition, take it to a jeweller to have it checked.

To keep your jewellery in its best shape always:

-check your jewellery each time you put it on. If the clasp doesn’t feel right, don't wear it and get it to a jeweller to have it checked.

-Remove your jewellery if you're doing anything which could scratch, knock or damage it.

- Take jewellery off when you go to bed.

- Keep it well away from chemicals.

- Bathe and apply any lotions or perfumes before you put your jewellery on.

- Store it separately, ideally in a soft-lined box or case,

- Remove jewellery while cooking and cleaning.

- When storing jewellery, keep it away from sunlight, excessive heat or damp conditions.

 - Always check for worn, damaged or missing claws on settings, loose catches and clasps or rough links on chains or bracelets, fractures in metals.

-If your jewellery does receive a knock, check it thoroughly and take in to a jeweller if you have any concerns.
